Peaky Blinders writer hints at film and dashes Liam Gallagher cameo hopes The writer of Peaky Blinders is hoping a film version will be made when the TV series ends. Steven Knight, creator of the Birmingham crime saga, is to look at possible spin offs once the series ends. The writer said he did not want to pursue a prequel or introduce celebrity cameos after Liam Gallagher said he was interested in appearing. Knights desire is to take the story to the cusp of the Second World War by the final series before a move to the big screen. In Pictures: See inside the Peaky Blinders Festival in Digbeth [Birmingham Mail] He said: “Im writing series six at the moment. Thats almost done. “Then Im going to do series seven, then Im looking at spin offs, maybe a movie. “Its up to us. Its up to the people involved.” He said he would make a decision on the future film version along with star Cillian Murphy and producer Caryn Mandabac. On embarking on a prequel, he said: “The problem with a prequel is youre limiting yourself as to where it can go. “You cant kill a character who can show up in the series.” In Pictures: Peaky Blinders season five cast – all you need to know [Hello Magazine] Knight spoke at the Peaky Blinders Legitimate festival in Digbeth, where former Oasis frontman Gallagher made an appearance. The show creator added: “He said If you do my video, Ill do the festival. “In terms of appearances weve always had a lot of incoming interest. What Im trying to not do is populate the scene with people who are known for other things, because I think its quite distracting.” MSN UK is committed to Empowering the Planet and taking urgent action to protect our environment.
